THE LOW SHOW Opens at Moab Art Works
THE LOW SHOW opened today at Moab Art Works. The show, aimed at an audience of children under seven, includes entries by Alex Burbidge, Cliff Crutchfield, Sally Hingley, Page Holland, Marlene Huckabay, Michael Kaniecki, Betsy Kelley, Natalia Kelley, Carolyn King, Howard McPherson, Brian Parkin, John Schaefer, Robin Straub, Carolyn Webb and Marian Boardley. Painting, sculpture, mixed media, and photography are all represented.Winner of the Best in Show is Betsy Kelley of Monticello for her interactive painting "Rabbit Tail" which allows visitors to select the rabbit's tail from a choice of 4 colors. Betsy's 9 year-old daughter Natalia was also awarded a special juror's prize for "Animal Tree". Honorable Mention went to Alex Burbidge (ALEA) of Moab for his sculpture "Somewhere Between Grandpa Joe's Junk Box and Sesame Street" which is the only piece to include musical enhancements. Moab Art Works would like to thank the jurors and all the participating artists for their hard work and support. Children will be visiting the exhibit all week and voting for their favorites.
