Richard Morgenstein at Moab Art Works April 2008
An exhibition of photographs from "Speed Week" For over twenty years Richard Morgenstein has photographed people for magazines, corporations and private clients. Some of his favorite projects have included Olympic athletes, the workings of a grass-fed cattle ranch, and "Speed Week" at Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah - the theme of his show at Moab Art Works which opens this Saturday April 19th. The common denominator for these diverse subjects is Richard's interest in all kinds of people, their passions, and their environments. Within the profession Richard is well-known for his technical expertise, his lighting acumen, and his easy-going way with people. His photographs of politicians and business leaders have featured regularly in Business Week and Forbes magazines and he was recently called one of the world's finest portrait photographers. His work has been featured in Photo District News and Wraparound magazine (Advertising Photographers of America). His clients include Visa, Yahoo!, Charles Schwab & Company, Genentech, Franklin Templeton Investments, Oracle Corporation, 3Com Corporation, and Bloomberg Publishing. "When he works on a picture Richard is always looking for a new angle, to make a photograph that hasn't been done before. He constructs shots that are interesting, sometimes surprising, and always fun to do" said Brian Parkin of Moab Art Works gallery. "His work in the reduced visual landscape of Bonneville Salt Flats gives additional significance to people and objects photographed on the playa." "Speed Week" Photographs from Bonneville Salt Flats by Richard Morgenstein opened Saturday April 19th at Moab Art Works, 35 North Main Street, Moab. There are still some works from this show in the gallery. For more details call Brian Parkin at (435) 259 3010. | |
