Deborah
Shank, originally from the Chicago area, began photographing at the age
of eight when she got her first camera - she has been playing with film
and light ever since. Her favorite camera now is a Fuji 6x17, which she
uses to make large panoramic images. Deborah is a collected
basket maker and dabbles in watercolor and pastels. She has also worked
with the Moab Community Theater and Red Rock Improv here in
Moab.
During the summer heat she is often found kayaking on the river trying
to get in one more surf before the sun goes down. Moab has
been
her permanent home for almost six years, and she’s not
leaving
anytime soon. |

Patrick Paul René, born in 1964 in Roussillon, France, a little town of the Dauphiné region. His interest in photography began on his first visit to the Southwest in the early 1980s. It was the wild desert beauty, enchantment and grandeur within the Colorado Plateau that captured his imagination. By the early 1990s Patrick was visiting the region annually to savor the pristine solitude it offered. It was this isolation that unleashed his creativity for the works we see today. Patrick views his photography as works of art using a camera and lens as his paintbrush and easel. He produces strong, powerful images that evoke an emotional response in himself and his audience. His intuition and imagination continue to guide him in bringing the depth of mood and beauty that is ever present in his work. |
