The council's vote was unanimous.  Council member Bob Greenberg expressed his approval of the appointment, stating that the arts are "the future of tourism" in Grand County.

Brian and Marian of Moab Art Works just returned from PhotoLA, the third  successive year they have visited the premier showcase of photography on  the West Coast. The new location in Barker Hanger at Santa Monica  airport is an improvement on the cramped Civic Center space of the last  couple of years. The winner was Alex Burbidge's found-object sculpture "Somewhere Between Grandpa Joe's Junk Box and Sesame Street" (left) which received 48 votes. This piece was also the recipient of the Juror's Honorable Mention.
