Memories of the 1980s will come back to viewers who see John Schaefer’s photographs in Moab Art Works latest exhibit which opened January 12th. Schaefer attended the Democratic and Republican Presidential Conventions of 1984 and documented them using 35mm Polaroid transparency film. Later he made prints using the super-large Polaroid camera at the Museum of Fine Art in Boston.
"I am excited to get the opportunity to show these photographs to a local audience" said Brian Parkin of Moab Art Works. "Schaefer’s images draw the viewers’ attention to the iconography used by both major political parties.To see the pictures after twenty years with the knowledge of all that has happened since then in the country and the wider world is most interesting."
