"Wings of Color: Essays in Fabric" by Karen Wedding

This show features Karen Wedding’s decorative wall hangings – a series of quilts shaped like eagle wings based on single colors and embellished to amplify the theme of each work. The intricate needlework invites viewers to examine them up close, and Karen skillfully uses various color palettes to create her essays on subjects both frivolous and serious. Karen will also be displaying her decorative pillows.

	Karen Wedding is a fabric artist based in Lakewood, Colorado and a part-time Moab resident. WIth her husband John she has run a mapping company for 30 years, raised four children, and climbed all fifty-four 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado. Other quilts by Karen have previously hung in the Colorado State Capitol.
